In the first phase of the implementation, Mercator Integration Broker will integrate the disparate business systems concerned with BNP Paribas' trade settlement process with Automatch, the Omgeo solution for order matching. Systems to be integrated include BNP Paribas' legacy order tracking system.

In a subsequent phase, the use of Mercator Integration Broker will be extended across the firm's settlement operations.

Eric Babji, director of middle office information systems at BNP Paribas, says the firm selected Mercator from a shortlist of three on the basis of its track record and speed of implementation.

He adds: "Mercator demonstrated proven ability in the handling of Swift messages, enabling us to integrate and rationalise our trade settlement systems around Swift."
