Financial Objects sees over one million transactions per hour in Unisys benchmarking

Financial Objects has released benchmark test results which show its .NET-based enterprise banking system, activebank2, hitting over one million transactions per hour when run on a Unisys ES7000 server.

The testing was conducted with a 32-processor Unisys Enterprise Server ES7000, and involved 1.5 million customers.

Results show activebank2 to be capable of processing 1,000,440 online transaction receipts per hour; processing accrued interest on 1,877,000 accounts per hour; opening 136,000 new accounts per hour; and retrieving 2,058,000 balance figures per hour.

Whilst running the benchmarking tests the online response time for any user activity on the system was also tested and found to deliver a sub-second response.

activebank2 was also found to scale in a predictable linear fashion, both up and out.

Richard West, partner relationship manager, Unisys, says: "Financial Objects has clearly demonstrated exceptional results with activebank2 running on the ES7000. The ES7000 and activebank2 are a perfect match and provide financial institutions with a solution which is highly scalable, cost-effective and able to support extremely large transaction volumes."
