Dallas-based BancTec has contracted with Iona to use its embedded Corba-compliant middleware technology, ORBacus, to meet industry demands for open systems compliance.
Under the agreement, ORB will be used within BancTec's Plexus FloWare workflow product and the eFirst document management product range to facilitate integration with disparate systems and platforms built on the Corba framework.
Jim Forkin, general manager for Plexus, explains: "The increasing importance of middleware such as Corba means that our own technology and solutions need to leverage the best middleware products and that is why we chose ORBacus."
