Europay International, MasterCard's partner in Europe, and Crédit Mutuel/CIC have won the contracts for the French Ministry of Defence, the French Ministry of the Interior and the Commune of Issy les Moulineaux. Europay and Credit Agricole have been awarded the contracts for the Laboratoire National d’Essais, in association with French e-marketplace, Answork.

The purchasing solutions will allow the public sector organisations to offer staff a single corporate card to buy goods and services. The departments will then be able to detail transaction data and authorise controls, as well as helping to eliminate paper invoices, say the companies. Under terms of the deals, the two teams will be offering training and implementation support, e-commerce capabilities and integration of the card platform, along with MasterCard global payment acceptance.

Each of the five projects will commence with a pilot phase, testing in particular the virtual and the face-to-face purchasing requirements of the individual programmes.
