SunGard Trading Systems has appointed HP executive Jim Davis as president of the global markets business unit.
Davis is charged with overseeing all of global markets' international operations while focusing on customer service and a "well-defined product direction."
He joins the company from Hewlett Packard where he headed the global software engineering systems division, ran partner programs with Intel and was director of business development, acquisitions and divestitures. Previously, Davis held executive, sales and technology management roles at Apple, Sun Microsystems, and Digital Equipment Corporation.
Ron Lang, group chief executive officer of SunGard Trading Systems, says: "Jim's expertise in large organisations and acquisition strategy will play a significant role in our quest to be the leading trade order management system vendor."
