Fintech firms from anywhere in the world can apply to participate in the 2019 Global Fintech Hackcelerator @ Southern Africa competition. The challenge will be run by fintech/bank matchmaking platform KPMG Matchi, with firms invited to address 'problem statements' on sustainable finance issues constructed by the central bank.

The Sarb says the programme will enable it to get a better grip of the benfits and risks posed by new solutions emerging from the fintech startup sector.

Shortlisted respondents chosen by the judging panel will receive funding to build a prototype and get the opportunity to showcase their wares at the 2019 Singapore Fintech Festival.

Applications for the Global Fintech Hackcelerator @ Southern Africa close at midnight on 8 September 2019.
