The K&H Innovathon hack in Budapest will challenge participants to demonstrate applications around mobile banking, incentives to steer users away from cash to electronic channels and contributions towards the creation of a banking-as-a-service platform.

The finalists stand to win EUR15 000 in prize money, a fast track incubation at K&H’s own startup accelerator and the prospect of having their ideas implemented commercially at the bank.

Balázs Németh, Head of K&H Operations, Technologies and Retail Credit Management, says: "In February, K&H developer portal and test environment were opened among the first in the Hungarian market. The purpose of the portal is to help you find out how to specifically search for bank data, open a pay interface for third parties, and provide them with support during the development phase. These include either a bank, a fintech company, or a technology company."

Registration for the Innovathon is open till the 2 May and the one-day event will take place on 18 May.

I like the word 'INVATHON' a great combinathion of INNOVATION and HACKATHON. Great

Sadly. That'd be a typo David. Now corrected to Innovathon.

Another busy day in the newsroom.

You can take INVATHON and run with it, though :-)
