"The value Bolero brings will be measured by operational efficiencies that benefit our clients and ourselves," says Frank Abraham, EVP of global trade sales for Bank of America. "And, since trade transactions have typically been burdened with manual processes, such as data entry and paper handling, we expect to see transformational efficiencies early."

The bank has created a Bolero.net user group to assess and implement the messaging and processing services available over the network.

"We believe that with this platform, the new internet based products and services under development and the use of digital certificates to authenticate and secure transactions, we will help transform the way commerce is carried out," says Elizabeth Ghekiere, manager of International Product Management for Bank of America
