Spain's Banco Sabadell has teamed up with MasterCard to launch a mobile wallet that will let customers make in-store payments with a tap of their handsets.
Last year the bank revealed that it was working with Carta Worldwide on a mobile wallet using Host card Emulation (HCE) technology, eliminating the need to deliver and manage NFC credentials on the handset.
It now says that the Sabadell Wallet is being piloted by bank staff ahead of a commercial launch in July for users with phones running at least the KitKat version of the Android operating system and NFC availability.
For smartphones which do not have this technology, Banco Sabadell will offer a sticker which can be fitted onto the handset.
