Jetco will use Gemalto's LinqUs Trusted Service Management software platform for the commercial rollout in Hong Kong and Macau. The vendor will also provide set-up consulting services.

The technology will help Jetco to securely distribute and manage mobile payment services to their end users, enabling them to make low-value payments with a tap of their handsets at more than 10,000 POS terminals.

Suzanne Tong-Li, president, Greater China and Korea, Gemalto, says: "The TSM will allow Jetco to play the role of trusted third party for NFC deployment and collaborate with all of Hong-Kong's mobile operators in a secure manner."

John Tsang, deputy GM, Jetco, adds: "A great advantage of the Gemalto TSM's flexible nature is that it will allow our member banks to leverage multiple payment standards."
