To support the forthcoming work with AWS, NRI is building a business unit that will include a staff of management consultants, system architects, data analysts and engineers dedicated to support system design, implementation and management.

NRI says it will use the partnership with Amazon to support clients as they move more of their enterprise IT infrastructure away from the corporate data centre and into the cloud.

Tatsuya Watahiki, senior corporate managing director, NRI, comments: "As the industry continues to evolve, financial services firms are increasingly looking to leverage secure cloud technology to improve their business operations. We have been utilising AWS to provide cloud services for Japanese corporations for several years and are excited to have the opportunity to work with AWS to further extend the offering."

He says the firm will expand the AWS cloud team to to more than 100 individuals within two years as it looks to build momentum among financial sector clients.
