Scotiabank upgrades wireless banking platform

Scotiabank has upgraded its mobile information service to provide access to current GIC, RSP, mortgage and Visa rates, alongside mutual fund rates. The bank claims to be the first to offer such a comprehensive wireless rate-watching service.

In addition, the service also includes a personal loan calculator which can be used to instantly determine how a loan might fit into a customer's current financial situation. Within each product category (mortgages, Visas, GICs, RSPs, and mutual funds) the service offers a call-through feature which, when selected, places a call to the appropriate sales representative for more information or to purchase.

Scotiabank is accessible over a range of Canadian carriers, including Aliant Telecom, Bell Mobility, MTS Communications, Rogers AT&T Wireless and Telus Mobility on microbrowser-enabled devices. It provides access to a number of personal banking and brokerage services including bill payment, account balance, account transfer, real-time quotes and market indices.
