The first of its kind, the 'Qibla' credit card - developed with InfoTec Systems - locates the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca at the push of a button.

The card offers a zero profit rate for up to 12 months for 'Hajj' and 'Umrah' travel - pilgrimages to Mecca. Cardholders can also get complimentary travel vouchers worth AED500 for Hajj and Umrah travel packages, a zero profit rate for up to six months on travel, electronics, jewellery and other purchases.

Mohamed Zaqout, head, personal banking group, Al Hilal Bank, says: "This card embodies Islamic banking at its best as envisioned by Al Hilal Bank."
