Nyse Euronext is looking for a new technology division chief after Young resigned earlier this year to join Bloomberg as chief executive of the market data vendor's enterprise products and solutions division.

Citing sources, the FT says Robson - who joined Reuters in 2003 and became head of TR's new business development office in December - is the favourite to take over as Nyse Technologies CEO.

In the wake of last year's aborted merger with Deutsche Bourse, Nyse Euronext set its sights on an expansion of its technology division, targeting a doubling of revenue growth to $1 billion, as trading in derivatives and cash equity markets softens in a tough economic climate.
