Electronic foreign exchange platform FXall has hired former Nyse Euronext chief information officer Steve Rubinow to head up its technology operations.
Based at FXall's New York headquarters and reporting to CEO Phil Weisberg, Rubinow takes on the CIO role, responsible for leading technology operations globally.
He joins after six years as EVP and CIO at Nyse Euronext, where he lead the post-merger technology and organisational integration of the US and European exchange operators.
He moved to Nyse following its 2006 acquisition of Archipelago Holdings, operator of the ArcaEx electronic stock market, where he spent five years as chief technology officer.
Says Weisberg: "Steve's ability to combine a deep understanding of the capital markets with the competency to manage the technology infrastructure that is vital to powering today's global financial trading will be highly valuable in driving FXall forward."
Rubinow's post at Nyse has been immediately filled by Peter Leukert, the former CIO of Commerzbank. At Commerzbank, Leukert was in charge of all applications and IT infrastructure, including a technology group comprising 3800 employees.
