PayPal is trialling a mobile application in Singapore metro stations that lets commuters scan QR codes to get deals and then make the purchase through their handsets.
The pilot involves billboards and posters at 15 subway stations across the island featuring Valentine day-related offers on things such as flowers and chocolates, from eight merchant partners.
Commuters who have downloaded the app can scan the QR codes related to the offers and then make the purchase through PayPal or credit cards and arrange to pick up the goods in store or have them delivered.
