MasterCard is using QR codes and Facebook Places for its 'Check into the Ballgame' marketing campaign, offering customers the chance to win tickets to New York Yankee games.
The card outfit has placed 20 seats belonging to the old Yankee stadium - knocked down last year - around New York.
As well as plastering them with MasterCard logos, the firm has also stuck QR codes on the seats, which fans can scan and check in via Facebook Places for a chance to win VIP tickets to a Yankee game.
In an accompanying TV ad, a man hands out Yankees tickets with the tagline "inviting some new friends to the game, priceless".
