Bank of America has been beaten to the Google+ punch by pranksters who have set up a parody business page for the firm.
Last week Google opened its social networking service up to companies who rushed to set up their own Google+ Business Pages.
Among the first to take advantage was 'Bank of America' but the tagline on the page - "we took your bailout money and your mortgage rates are going up" - makes clear it is far from official.
Alongside the BofA logo, it has a number of unflattering pictures of CEO Brian Moynihan, while the about section says: "We are committed to making as much money as possible from usury, coercion, bribery, insider trading, extortion, and debit card fees as possible."
Posts contain satirical swipes relating to the Occupy Wall Street movement and government bailouts, including: "Living under a tarp? I am too. My TARP is much bigger, however, and billions of dollars more expensive."
Despite the obvious 'brandjacking', the page is still live, attracting 1050 followers at the time of writing and 638 +1s making it far more popular than what appears to be a genuine, verified BofA page, which has just 40 followers.
