The transaction includes substantially all of the assets of Board Member Inc., including Corporate Board Member magazine, Boardmember.com, and the Director's Database, as well as its interactive research, conference, and educational services. Bank Director magazine, also published by Board Member Inc., is not included in the sale.

Nyse Euronext says the acquisition will enable it to extend its educational programmes to Board Member's community of 43,000 company directors and C-suite officers.

The two companies have worked together in the past, including the Annual Boardroom Summit conference and the Board Committee Peer Exchanges as well as producing a weekly on-demand Web programme covering strategic, regulatory, and governance issues.

In June last year, Nyse launched an online community network - Nyse Connect - exclusively for executives of Nyse-and Nyse Amex-listed companies promising faster access to market information and economic reports via webcasts, surveys and blogs, and the opportunity to collaborate with peers.
