The New York Stock Exchange has launched an online community exclusively for executives of Nyse-and Nyse Amex-listed companies.
The new platform, dubbed Nyse Connect, has been developed in conjunction with LA-based digital dev house Passenger. It will provide company executives with "faster access" to market information and economic reports via webcasts, surveys and blogs, and the opportunity to collaborate with peers for sharing ideas and best practices.
Joe Mecane, EVP and chief administrative officer, US Execution, Nyse Euronext, says: "Our customers want new pathways to access information and share ideas, to connect with stakeholders and to drive incremental business and revenue."
He says the platform will feature private Webcasts and live chat sessions as well as online polls and surveys and the ability to exchange views with top analysts, the Nyse and peers.
The exchange has also created an online marketplace - the Nyse Alliance Network - for companies to sell their products and services to employees of other listed companies at a 20% loyalty discount.
In another move, Nyse has established an online resource under th banner Profile of the Week, to showcase information relating to one listed company per week. Users can use the platform to self-publish data, investor relations information and marketing messages in a multi-media player on the Nyse Euronext corporate Website.
Says Mecane: "Our goal is to leverage technology and information for the benefit of our world class family of listed companies, providing this community a content rich forum, advanced networking capabilities and new commercial opportunities that are unrivaled by any other marketplace."
