Charter One Financial is to run a limited-time promotion that rewards customers with loyalty points toward free merchandise and travel benefits each time they make a bill payment from the bank's Web site.
Under the promotion which ends June 30, customers enrolled in MegaRewards will automatically earn one point for every dollar in Internet-based payments they make.
The bank's MasterCard MegaRewards debit card program, launched in December, allows customers to earn one point for every dollar they spend on a signature-based transaction with their Charter One debit card. Points can be redeemed for merchandise and travel on any airline.
