London-based e-payments outfit, Nomad Software has teamed up with Hypercom to deliver end-to-end EMV (Europay, Mastercard and Visa) PoS solutions to banks preparing to meet the EMV migration timescales for acquiring by 2002.
Under terms of the agreement, Nomad will provide its payments processing software with Hypercom providing smart card capable payment terminals and advanced networking equipment. Together, the companies say they can offer banks a complete solution to embrace EMV smart card standards with maximum functionality and ease of installation.
The partnership follows a number of joint projects which the two companies have recently undertaken, including providing Visa Jordan Card Services (VJCS) with a complete smart card payment infrastructure.
Nomad and US-based Hypercom say they will initially focus on delivery of solutions to financial institutions in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
