Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is claiming deployment of the world's first native Windows 2000 server platform for retail branch banking. The implementation was managed by Financial Models Company, which migrated CIBC's Coins server system from a legacy environment to the MS Web solution.
The new platform will be deployed to approximately 1300 bank branches and 20,000 bank employees across Canada says CIBC.
"Moving Coins to Windows 2000 was not a simple port of code. We had to design and implement a new component-based platform" says Lian Zerafa, vice president of global IT consulting at FMC.
