BNP Paribus subsidiary Cetelem has signed a $2.8 million information technology services deal with IBM to support its operations in Argentina.
Under the deal, signed in the first quarter, Cetelem will migrate a portion of its IT infrastructure and data centre operations to IBM Argentina's technology campus in Martínez, Buenos Aires.
The vendor says the agreement will offer Cetelem more flexibility to deal with its business growth with management and monitoring tools that enable the bank to respond proactively to incidents and improve productivity.
IBM says that by outsourcing the operation, integration and updating of business computing systems Cetelem will benefit from increased flexibility and better disaster recovery and be able to better control expenses, eliminating hidden costs and ensuring better use of human resources.
In addition the bank will be able call on IBM's resources to minimise systems and platforms integration risks and improve services quality and availability, says the vendor.
Patrick Declá, CEO, Cetelem Argentina, says: "We have made a strong investment which will benefit our customers and our customers' customers by speeding operations and final service."
