US banking group BB&T has contracted with Diebold for the supply of 300 of the vendor's Opteva ATMs.
BB&T will install the Diebold units at branches and off-premises sites throughout 11 states and Washington DC.
Dieobld says the order includes a mix of Opteva models which will be rolled out by BB&T over the next three years. An initial 20 terminals will be installed by the end of 2007.
The Opteva units operate on the vendor's Agilis software platform - an open system that allows multiple vendors' terminals and technologies to co-exist on an ATM network.
David Bucci, SVP, customer solutions group, Diebold, says the terminals feature advanced security mechanisms that protect assets, as well as the latest fraud prevention technology to protect consumers.
