PayPal has partnered with a raft of online retailers - including Ann Summers, Comet, Harrods, John Lewis, Littlewoods, Next, Superbreak, Woolworths, Toys 'R' Us and The Body Shop - to sell products through the 'PayPal Offers' Web site.

The site includes cashback offers of up to 17% from retailers, with money deposited straight into PayPal accounts. Other merchants are offering discounts.

Cristina Hoole from PayPal says: "With the launch of PayPal Offers, PayPal takes away some of the stresses and strains that shopping in the festive period can bring."
