PayPal, the online payments business of electronic auction house eBay, is opening a new technology development centre in Austin, Texas which will employ hundreds of technical professionals in the next three years.
PayPal says it is currently accepting applications from technology and engineering professionals with expertise in product development, infrastructure, architecture, design, risk and engineering.
PayPal vice president of core technologies, Matthew Mengerink, says: "Austin is well-known for its strong pool of well-educated, talented professionals with the right level of expertise in technology and ecommerce."
Details of PayPal's investment in the new Austin facility were not disclosed.
PayPal said earlier this year that it was opening a technology development unit in Chennai, India.
