Under the deal, Global Payments will provide Postbank with a range of services including card personalisation and authorisation, PIN management and fraud monitoring. The vendor will also manage ATM and PoS networks and provide call centre services.

The services will be provided by Global Payments' unit in Sarajevo, which was established when the vendor acquired Bosnian payments processor Diginet in September 2006.

Potsbank was recently privatised and is now part owned by Amsterdam-based Poteza Adriatic Fund which holds a 48% stake.

Dzenamir Abaza, CEO, Potsbank BH, says: "After successful re-capitalisation and change in ownership, Postbank BH has very ambitious business plans to make the card business a vital part of our retail banking.

"We are determined to create high quality, valuable card products, which we will market independently through the network of our strategic partner, Post Offices BH."
