For a one-off fee of SKr100, Swedbank's Visa and Mastercard debit cardholders can add an image taken by themselves or one selected from an online gallery to their plastic payment card.

Serverside says its online card customisation technology enables Swedbank cardholders to enlarge, rotate, move or flip their chosen image to suit their requirements. The entire process takes place over the Web and no software downloads are needed.

Commenting on the new service, Mårten Hallén, head of card products, Swedbank, says: "This is a good opportunity to meet our customers' demand for individualised services and products in an easy and attractive way. It also helps us to keep our cards in a 'top of wallet' position."

Last month Serverside reported that Greek banking group Eurobank was using its technology to power a new online card customisation service called Photocard.
