American Express says the new service combines technology developed by its Harbor Payments subsidiary with its own payment and service capabilities

With S2S eInvoice&Pay companies can now process 100% of their invoices and issue payments to their suppliers from a single online portal managed by American Express.

Gordon Smith, president of American Express Global Commercial Card, says: "Many of our clients are looking for an automated and efficient way to handle invoices and manage payments to suppliers."

Smith says many firms have taken steps to move their ordering online but now realise that they are still mired in paperwork on the back end - routing paper invoices and sending paper cheques. American Express is helping them take the next big step in transforming their payment process.

Features of the EIPP system include electronic capture of 100% of invoices and straight-through electronic processing from purchase order to payment for users of electronic procurement and the American Express Corporate Purchasing Card.
