Reliance Money is deploying two million units of Vasco's Digipass GO3 client authentication device, which generates a one-time unique password for customers to use online.

Says Sudip Bandyopadhyay, CEO, Reliance Money: "Vasco's Digipass will act as a third level of security on Reliance Money Web site and safeguard its customers' funds from hackers and phishing. The customer in addition to his username and password will be required to type the number being flashed on his personalised digital token at that given point in time, thus providing him with a unique, foolproof login system."

At the back-end, Reliance Money will use the vendor's Vacman Controller system to automatically authenticate login requests from authorised users.

The vendor says the deal is an "important breakthrough" for Vasco in India.

"We are convinced that our partnership will result in a more secure financial transaction environment for citizens and companies in India," says Vasco's president and COO Jan Valcke.
