Garanti Bank already uses Vasco's Digipass 260 authentication tokens to provide its corporate clients with secure access to Internet banking services.

Now the bank's retail customers will be able to choose whether to use the Digipass tokens or the Digipass for Java Phone software when conducting online transactions. Both products provide Web banking clients with one-time passwords and enable e-signature verification.

Rasim Mahmutogullar, manager of strategic support at Garanti Bank, says: "We wanted to give our retail customers the choice whether to work with a hardware Digipass 260 or to download a software on their mobile phone."
