The vendor will provide the bank with more than 350 of its Personas ATMs, as well as its ATM management technology, Gasper and remote key management software.

The bank has also licensed NCR's Aptra Promote software, which will enable it to deliver advertising and promotional campaigns on the ATMs.

NCR says this order will also enable UBA to use its Intelligent Deposit technology, which displays images of deposited cheques on the ATM screen for verification and on the customer's receipt. This speeds the deposit process, while providing a proof-of-deposit to the customer.

The vendor says the UBA deal is its largest contract win in Sub-Saharan Africa. Bob Tramontano, vice president of self-service for NCR's financial solutions division says: "The sub-Saharan region continues to offer an important opportunity for our ATM business."
