Stockholm-based Swedbank has signed a five year contract, worth around NKr35 million, with EDB Business Partner for the supply of banking technology to support the expansion of its operations in Norway.
Swedbank Norway, which currently provides wholesale bnaking services for corporate clients and financial institutions in the country, will use the EDB technology to support expansion into the commercial and retail banking markets.
Under the deal EDB will provide the bank with Internet and retail banking technology, including branch banking applications, debit card systems, data warehousing technology and its Syscon lending system.
In addition to these, the vendor will continue to provide Swedbank Norway with core banking services, foreign exchange and Internet banking systems for the corporate market.
Gry Killingstad, branch manager at Swedbank, comments: "EDB's solutions are a good match for our future requirements in Norway. The company is a leading Nordic player for efficient and customer-oriented solutions in the banking and finance sector, and we have good experience from our existing collaboration.
"Against this background, it was natural for us to expand our collaboration with EDB as we increase our focus on the Norwegian market."
