Bank of America is closing three US call centres, leading to the loss of 1900 jobs, as it continues to consolidate its operations with the MBNA credit card unit it acquired earlier this year.
According to press reports, the bank is closing a credit card call centre in Dover, Delaware, leading to the loss of 630 jobs. The bank is also shutting a centre in Horsham, Pennsylvania, which employs 600 people, and a third is in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which employs 670 staff.
The job cuts are part of the Bank of America's integration of credit card company MBNA, which it acquired on 1st January.
The bank has previously said that the merger could result in the elimination of around 6000 jobs across the two companies.
