Customers will use the Digipass 810 card readers along with their chip-based debit cards to access online accounts and perform transactions on the Dexia Direct Net Web banking site.

The card reader generates a single-use password that customers type in when prompted on the bank's Web site.

Stan Nimmegeers of Dexia Bank, says the Vasco smart card reader "offers secure and user friendly e-banking, turning the Internet into an even more trustworthy remote banking channel."
