The vendor says the fingerprint-scanning technology will be used by the credit unions to authenticate users and members to networks, applications and Web sites.

Phil Fowler, CIO, Telesis Community Credit Union, says: "To ensure more reliable secure network and application access, we decided to use a biometric system provided by Digital Persona's fingerprint system that eliminates the need for user IDs and passwords."

Oklahoma-based Allegiance worked with Digital Persona's systems integrator BioTran, to deploy a system which enables its members and employees to access its records and funds.

Amy Petty, VP operations, Allegiance, comments: "With the use of Digital Persona's fingerprint authentication solutions, Allegiance has been able to streamline productivity and limit issues concerning identification and password access to our systems."
