Euronet switches ATMs in CEE to NCR's Aptra

Euronet Worldwide is rolling out NCR's multivendor ATM software, Aptra, across its 3000 cash machines in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Euronet has signed a four year deal with NCR for the supply of initial software licenses for the 3000 ATMs, along with professional services to develop and install a multivendor ATM system across the CEE region.

Ohio-based NCR says the agreement will enable Euronet to migrate the ATMs to a single platform, which will lower costs and increase the speed with which Euronet can expand its ATM network and develop new services.

Euronet has already migrated its multivendor ATMs in the Czech Republic to NCR's EMV-compliant Aptra Advance NDC software. The firm's ATM networks in Poland and Hungary will be migrated to the Aptra platform later this year.

The global agreement also provides Euronet with the option for further software licenses and professional services support as it expands its ATM business in Asia and Latin America.

NCR already provides hardware maintenance and support services for Euronet ATMs situated in Poland, Hungary, Germany, the Czech Republic and Egypt under a deal signed in November 2003.
