Dutch data management technology vendor Asset Control is establishing a new technology developement centre in Times Square, New York.
The new centre is scheduled to open in July and will serve as a development lab for the configuration of turnkey solutions prior to installations at customer sites.
The facility will also showcase the vendor's AC Plus product for Basel II data and reference data - which will be running on servers supplied by Sun Microsystems - for onsite and online visitors.
Asset Control also operates a European developement centre in the Netherlands.
The vendor says it is working with Sun to develop turnkey solutions for customers, combining Sun hardware with AC Plus software.
Ger Rosenkamp, CEO of Asset Control, says the first turnkey project built on Sun hardware was implemented at a European bank "within days".
Nigel Woodward, Sun's global manager for capital markets and securities, says more than 90% of Asset Control customers have already chosen to centralise data management on Sun servers.
"The speed and simplicity of the AC Turnkey Solutions programme will attract even more financial institutions to this robust solution," he adds.
