The bank is currently installing the Flexcube platform at its recently-acquired operations in the Czech Republic and Slovenia, with both implementations expected to go live by the end of the year.

The system will then be deployed across Bawag's other businesses in the CEE region.

Josef Schwarzecker, member of board and CIO of Bawag, says: "Flexcube will be our single operating platform, will link the multiple entities we have acquired to a common hub, enable faster growth and deliver better customer service across the regions."

Schwarzecker says the platform will provide greater cost efficiencies and better management of international branches by deploying a "hub and spoke" model.
