US bank Bear Stearns is using TimesTen's real-time data handling software to manage certain time-critical information used in its securities trading systems.
California-based TimesTen says its products provide 'out-of-the-box' data management support for real-time, continuously available applications through standard interfaces.
The vendor says its system is built from a combination of core technologies for in-memory database management, continuous availability, event and transaction processing and data exchange.
Bear Stearns has also recently implemented Oregon-based GemStone Systems' integrated data management technology, GemFire Enterprise, to reduce data latency and performance bottlenecks across its trading operations.
