Specialist financial consultancy Capco has appointed former Deutsche Bank MD and CIO Gopi Chelliah as partner and executive vice president of its business process outsourcing (BPO) and sourcing development division.
Based in London, Chelliah will be responsible for growing and managing the delivery of all IT and BPO sourcing services for Capco, including offshore services supplied by the firm's centre in Bangalore, India, which was established last year. Capco's plans for expansion in Bangalore include increasing its staff count from 100 employees to 200 employees by year end 2005 and 300 employees by year end 2006.
He will also join Capco's executive management committee and transformation client services team.
Chelliah was previously MD and CIO for cross business technology and operations at Deutsche Bank, as well as a member of the group's technology and operations management committee and of the Deutsche Bank London Board.
He managed technology and operations functions across investment and retail banking departments, including risk, finance, compliance, human resources IT, enterprise-wide architecture, operations control and reference data.
Prior to Deutsche Bank, Chelliah held senior level positions in the banking industry for more than 15 years and led operations and technology functions with firms including UBS and CSFB.
