Thomson Financial and specialist financial consultant Capco have launched the Thomson Research Authoring Solution, a joint product which supports the creation and publication of investment research by analysts.
The application, which was developed by Capco and built on Microsoft Office 2003, offers authoring tools designed to automate and streamline the research publication processes.
All parties in the research production process, from analysts and supervisors to editors and compliance officers, can use the software to create, review and approve research content.
Thomson says the product manages formatting and data integration and can be configured to match specific research requirements. The system also features an intuitive user interface to manage ratings, commentary, financial and other data, as well as XML-based content and tagging to provide easier content re-purposing, rendering for distribution and RIXML conversion. A configurable data layer ties in analyst financial models, market information and reference and compliance data.
Allan Rosenstein, head of Capco's investment research practice, comments: "Our partnership with Thomson Financial allows analysts to focus on what they know best - critical research content - and leave their anxieties about formatting, integrating data, and reacting to changes in product or regulatory requirements to our tailored, easy to use solution."
