Alongside instant messaging, Reuters will provide BNP Paribas with a hosted logging service that enables the bank to record and archive all internal and external messages for up to seven years, ensuring compliance with IM regulations.

David Gordon, strategist at BNP Paribas, says: "BNP Paribas is very keen on improving the workflow for our users and to facilitate interactions between both the buy side and sell side. We see Reuters Messaging as a key enabler in the markets we operate."

The Reuters Messaging service was launched in 2002 in association with Microsoft. The vendor claims the service now has over 50,000 active users at more than 2000 companies and in 120 countries.
