Ariel Aloni, former chief architect at FX dealing systems outfit EBS, has been recruited to head up systems design and overall technology direction for SunGard's budding reference data business.
Aloni's appontment is the latest in a series of key postings at SunGard Data Management Solutions as the vendor puts together a top team to exploit the emerging market for off-the-shelf, custom and outsourced reference data services.
At EBS, Aloni led the design and implementation of several trading and market data products. Previously, he served as director of data messaging at Merrill Lynch, where he helped build an enterprise data infrastructure for the firm's corporate reference databases. Aloni has also held the position of vice president, head of software with Tudor Investments Corporation, where he designed historical market analysis, program trading, and risk management applications.
