US bank Wachovia is installing technology from SunGard eProcess Intelligence to automate global payments investigations and customer inquiries at its corporate and investment banking division.

The bank will implement SunGard's intelliTracs product to automate its payment customer inquiries globally, servicing over 40 sites.

Wachovia will also deploy SunGard's transaction research system, intelliTran, which provides staff with access to balances and historical transaction informatation.

SunGard says the combination of intelliTracs and intelliTran will provide bank staff with an automated process that researches and resolves customer inquiries automatically.

Wachovia has been using SunGard's automated matching and reconciliation software, intelliMatch, at its wholesale operations division since 1998.
