Advent Software, a California-based provider of investment management systems, has acquired its distributors in the UK and Switzerland and now directly controls all of its European operations.
Advent Europe was established in 1999 as a software distributor and support firm and has clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The vendor's European operations include offices in the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Greece and Spain, in addition to the newly-acquired units in Britain and Switzerland.
Håkan Wahlberg, currently vice president of sales for Advent's European operations, has been named vice president of EMEA.
Wahlberg has nearly 20 years of management experience in companies providing technology to the global and European marketplace. Prior to joining Advent in 2003, he held senior management positions at IBM, Industri-Matematik International and i2 Technologies.
