The financial sector sales are the smallest component of a total $1.3 billion in global contract signings during the last week of the quarter. The largest revenue came from the energy sector at $235 million.

EDS says the contracts are primarily medium-sized deals as a result of add-on and renewals from existing clients.

Michael Boustridge, division vice president, EDS global sales and client solutions, comments: "This is a strong indication that expanding our sales focus to include more medium-sized contracts is paying off for EDS."
