US Bancorp has signed a multi-year contract with California-based digital ID firm VeriSign for managed security services.
Under the deal, Verisign will monitor and manage over 100 security devices for US Bancorp, including host and network-based intrusion detection systems, on a 24/7 basis. VeriSign will assess, monitor, manage and respond to all security threats.
Richard Stephenson, director of information security, US Bancorp, says: "Using VeriSign's services, US Bancorp is able to extend our coverage and capabilities with a higher level of response than we previously experienced."
The new contract builds on an existing deal between the companies where VeriSign provides the bank with digital certificates to secure customer-facing Internet communications.
