Online car supermarket autoTrader.co.uk has added a comparative car insurance service to its Web site, powered by personal finance site moneysupermarket.com.
The car insurance finder generates quotations from over 50 insurers.
The moneysupermarket system displays personalised quotes acquired directly from insurers Web sites, including direct insurers, broker sites, panel based insurers and specialist insurers.
Autotrader says its has 23 million searches per month from customers looking for new and used vehicles and associated motoring products.
Jason Biffin, head of e-commerce at autotrader.co.uk, says: "Whereas people generally only visited the site to buy or sell their car, autotrader.co.uk can now take them right through the buying process – from finding the car, financing it and now insuring it too."
